Gardens were the original pharmacies and more people are re-learning how to partner with plants to increase health and wellness safely. In this session, learn about basic medicinal plants anyone can grow and what to do with them to help heal your body and soul.

Linda Black Elk is an ethnobotanist and food sovereignty activist who specializes in teaching about culturally important plants and their uses as food, medicine, and materials. She works to promote knowledge acquisition and skill development so that people everywhere might feed and heal themselves.

Linda currently serves on the board of Makoce Ikikcupi, a land recovery organization on Dakota lands in Minnesota.

She has an amazing husband and three sons, who are all citizens of the Oceti Sakowin.
